Serve Love Meditate Realize

The Sivananda Ashram has daily satsang and a 24 hour chant of Hare Krishna, Hare Rama. Some of us went up and chanted a bit with them one night. I made plans to go back during the day to take pictures. Among other things, I got a picture of the sign that said Don't feed the monkeys.

Eric and Gina both have special connections to Sivananda. Each studied yoga under one of the two gurus sent from here to the US. As I was chanting on the ghat Monday, I looked up over my right shoulder and there sat an Indian version of Eric. He was trim, nicely built, had white hair, and was wearing white pants and a bright purple shirt. I had to laugh and I gave Eric a mental hug. Later that night, at the The Divine Life Society, Sivananda Ashram I could swear Eric was hovering over my right shoulder, laughing gleefully. I loved it!

  1. Hi Beckyji,

Once again...thank you so much for sharing your journey with us...it is a wondrous piece of heaven that you are on a miraculous journey which then flies off your fingertips and travels through space and time and flows out as light and word from the computer screen. Magic I think.
Even though we don't post...we DO READ! So know that we are sharing your journey with you.
I am so pleased, happy, joyous that you are living in such an incredible part of the world, (briefly but profoundly).
Can you share your journey with us when you get home? I have truly enjoyed your adventures...wanted to be there with you all, learning and experiencing and having amazing
    "trips" into consciousness. Ahhh....India!
Would you mind if I shared this blog with Eric O'del? He may already have it, but if not I think he'd really enjoy it. Back here at home: some news, Monica and I have joined Eric's group this past Monday, as his had shrunk down to four people and our group had eight or so. I hope that you wont mind being shared by two groups...let me know. In fact, I have been thinking that we should celebrate your return with an Indian food feast, and story-telling and chanting lessons, etc. Would that be something you and the India Travel Group might like?
I'm sure you guys will have a post trip dinner, and though I wasn't part of it physically...your writing took me there. So I feel like I want the after trip celebration! Silly me.
Anyway...... I love your posts. Thank you so much for bringing it all home to us. Your generosity of heart, spirit, mind come shining through.
India will always be a part of you.
Her Mahatma is in your spirit now and forever. Enjoy! Enjoy! In joy!
    Stateside,

PS last night I took my first yoga class in years and thought of you and your companions...it's funny, but you're a bit of an inspiration for me to get up off my...derierre, and broaden my practice! The room had incense, chants on CD and a young woman who gave us sanskrit terms and five yogic concepts. No attachment, no envy/self-judgment, no stealing, etc. So India is here for you too...she stretches far! Ganga Ma!
In peace, Namaste, Sat Nam. In joy!

  3. Eric already has the url to this blog, but you're free to share it with him again.

I'm happy to be shared by two groups!

I'm glad you're enjoying sharing my journey. I can't promise anything on behalf of the group once I get home, but I'm happy to share it with you myself.

  4. Hi Becky,
    Danusia again.
Yes I'd love to hear first hand from you. This morning I woke up at four am (again)......had a little meditation and realized: "I'm going to India!"
I've daydreamed it so many times but this time I said why not? What would it look like? Can I feel it? And it was all calling out to me to be realized. I long for a place where I can be devotional in my romantic way with flowers and incense and then I understood that my style.....my internal style is much more Hindu in nature,I suppose. (Who knows?)So I must now learn what it is exactly..and it feels that a trip to India is the answer. Your journey has really brought this home to me and I want to thank you for that. So YES Please! When you get home tell me where I should begin my journey of yoga, meditation, devotion and total immersion in Ganga MA!

  5. Becky:

PS If Ganesha has materialized in your life is it possible that He may be able to take an immersive bath in the Ganges?
